"I was born and brought up in Iran, a country with a rich history of showing art through intricate concepts. Growing up, I was surrounded by motifs, symbols and visual stories on carpets and buildings, in films, etc. They shaped my way of thinking and connecting to the world around me.
Recently my focus has been black and white photography. I am back in the darkroom to re-learn what I practised in the 90s.
In a world of digital, using AI we can create any high qualty image but analogue I capture the moment reality. I think every photo we take is a self portrait so my photos are about the feeling at the moment I take the photo. "
