Tickets and Booking

Many events are free. These are usually not ticketed – just show up at the event. Some free events are ticketed because numbers are restricted. Tickets are sold online through TicketSource. We also sell tickets on the door and even if an event is sold out there are generally some returns however these cannot be guaranteed.

Ticket Release Dates

Online tickets may be released in tranches to allow early sales. The last tranche will only be released once the paper programmes have been delivered to the local area. Ticket release dates are printed in the paper programme and published on the website.

Ticket Types

There are two different types of ticket available for events:

  • Full – Standard ticket price.
  • Concession – Under 18s, people on state benefits or low income.

Disabled Tickets

A disabled ticket (either Full or Concession) includes a free ticket for a Carer. If you require a wheelchair space please contact so this can be reserved for you. If you have any other requirements like for example easy access to the main exit or an Assistance dog that prefers a quiet corner, email and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Booking Fees

We realise that the booking fees associated with online booking are frustrating. We are a small not for profit organisation and unfortunately we don’t have the capacity to process payments so these booking fees go directly to the ticket agency to cover their administration and fees.

These are their fees:

  • Fee per booking including VAT
  • up to £25.00 10%*
  • up to £35.00 9%
  • up to £50.00 8%
  • up to £100.00 7%

*minimum booking fee £0.50

Telephone Booking

TicketSource have a telephone booking service that can be used to purchase tickets. There will be a number dedicated to the Festival to call to book tickets with your credit or debit card.

Their box office will be open Monday to Friday, 9.00AM to 7.00PM (excluding bank holidays) and Saturdays 9.00AM to 5.00PM. If customers call outside of this time, there’s an option to leave a message on their answerphone system and they will  return your call.

There is an additional telephone service fee of £1.75 to use this, on top of the ticket price and booking fee. It covers all methods of ticket delivery and tickets can be posted out to customers up to 96 hours before the event.

We do not give refunds but you are welcome to pass on or sell your ticket to someone else. The ticket will still be in your name so make sure they are aware of that.

Very occasionally an event may have to be cancelled for some reason outside the Festival’s control. In this case a full refund will be given to ticket holders.

Checking Tickets on Entry

All ticketed events will have a Box Office team to check off customers against the ticket list. The list is arranged in surname order of the person who booked the tickets so please make sure you have that information to hand when you arrive to prevent delays.

You do not have to print your e-ticket but if you have a paper ticket, eg from a telephone booking, be sure to bring that.
