My work is mainly functional - bowls, mugs, vases etc, mostly wheel-thrown. I like the thought of my pots being in every day use, so I try to make them strong, functional and beautiful. Recently I have been making more hand made pots, mainly by pinching and paddling, which I am really enjoying. I make most of my own glazes but also like experimenting with discarded clays and glazes I have been given, and 'foraged' materials like local clays, sands, ashes etc. I enjoy the challenge of seeing how I can use different ingredients and saving something from the bin.
