I make one off and family groups of sculptural vessels, small female figurines, wall pieces and unique functional pieces.
I work in an intuitive and experimental way, engaging in a dialogue with my clay.
I am inspired by natural forms and textures, the human body, weathered and effaced surfaces, and ancient ceramics and glass.
I often throw as a starting point to hand building organic forms. I also enjoy working with slabs, pinching clay, and coiling larger pieces.
The colouring includes oxides, colourants, and glazes, often used as washes, and partly wiped off.
My ceramics is fired to high earthenware.
