‘Hilltoppers’ - an omnibus version of Telegraph Hill’s own web soap first broadcast during the 2010 Festival revealing the gossip, laughter, and tears of life in the dark ages before the Hill Station. Nearly fifteen years on this is another chance to spot locations you know and characters who may still seem familiar…

A celebration of the Festival and made by local industry professionals and talent working for love and sandwiches, ‘Hilltoppers’ brings drama, humour, pathos and jeopardy, not to mention lost cats and a community musical. When newcomers with their own troubles move in, the preoccupations of a group of neighbours putting on, or putting up with, the Festival are thrown into sharp relief. Contains mild nudity, smoking and cliffhangers.

‘The Barefoot Librarian’ - How a tatty falling apart copy of ‘The City Boy’ by Herman Wouke was the launchpad for ex Nunhead resident Michael Peacock to create free book libraries in Lewisham. Filmed in 2023 by Harry Merrell in The Royal George pub in Deptford where Michael manages another free library.

‘A Portrait of Mr Pink’ – the story, lovingly told by Helena Appio, of the man behind the iconic painted, now faded, house on Lewisham Way.

‘Forgotten but not Gone’ – bereavement, “digital exclusion” and a mission. In a story of one man's quest for normalcy, Goldsmiths students, Boyu Wang, Miko Ng, and team, explore issues facing the elderly and the help available in places such as New Cross Learning.

‘Sounds of the Hill’ – a portrait of the Festival from 2022 in which Catherine Finn, as part of her ethnographic film studies, explores connections between community, place and music-making within the local neighbourhood.

Doors open 6.45pm.
