Always fascinated by texture in the environment, I have explored many ways of creating textural artworks over the years using; paper, plaster, photography, fabric, paper pulp, stones, found objects, recycled glass etc.
My favourite is simple embossed paper, sometimes with collage and metal leaf added. Using fine, coloured papers and quality cotton papers I layer collages which I emboss and embellish when dry. Metals I use include; 24 carat gold leaf, silver, aluminium and copper leaf.
My work is abstract and simple in nature, and collectors often describe it as calming or up-lifting. Creating the work is like a meditation.
