Event Details

The story of a young woman doctor who meets artist Gwen John in 1890s Bloomsbury. The friendship opens up new horizons for protagonist Dora and life becomes more exhilarating. In parallel, the interior world of a house plant of Dora's reveals itself, setting the scene on an imperial backdrop.

Inspired by an ancestor, Esther weaves the narrative in scenes of stillness and movement you may watch or draw. There is costume, nudity, music and sound. Art materials available. Plenty to watch without drawing. From high energy exuberance; dropping to sadder tones; woven with quirky surrealism; a gripping story unfolds.
