Poetry is ancient wisdom but, like Orpheus, is not always heard. So this event will offer a range of poems and ideas about poetry that anyone can enjoy. It will be hosted by Freddie Baveystock, a local writer and educator who is passionate about keeping poetry alive – as anyone who came to his session on ‘Songs of the Earth’ at last year’s festival will know. It will offer the opportunity to hear poetry, talk about it and share those poems that matter most to you. Anyone is welcome, and you are welcome to bring some poems with you too.
