Event Details
Help Sudanese chef, Maysoon, of Plateful Cafe, make a very simple and comforting Musaga dish to be served with rice and enjoyed afterwards. Using everyday ingredients such as potato, onion, mixed peppers and tomatoes, you will learn how to layer flavours and prepare a hearty meal that is both nourishing and full of tradition. This dish is perfect to recreate at home and is family-friendly, making it ideal for cooking with children. Through this session, Chef Maysoon will share a taste of Sudanese home cooking and the stories behind this much-loved dish, bringing people together through food and culture. To be enjoyed afterwards. Plateful Cafe is a small charity with the mission to help local refugees get training and employment in the hospitality business.
Doors open at 16:15.
This event is part of the Guest Chef Fortnight. Over two weeks, chefs will run workshops on how to cook simple, tasty meals using surplus food donated by the Felix Project that would have otherwise gone to waste. Come learn with us or join later to enjoy the community feast!
