Every minute, hundreds of hours of audio are uploaded to the internet from around the world, a figure that is increasing exponentially. 'Maelstrom' harnesses this global sonic ecosystem to create a spatial sound sculpture that is composed in real-time from tens of thousands of sound fragments, heard through a spiral architecture of 24 speakers.
