Event Details

We’re dealing with more fake news in Britain every day. Home grown and from across the world, particularly from the US and Russia. And, because of the internet, fake news travels further, faster and more secretly than before. On-line fake news builds up for months before anyone notices it publicly. And so much on the internet is anonymised.

Fake news, particularly in America,  includes the maddest conspiracy theories – like anti – vaxxing – which go mainstream fast.

Author and Journalist Peter York became obsessed by fake news when he was researching his last book “The War Against the BBC” Here he describes what’s going on, why we need to deal with it urgently and what we can start doing now.

Doors open at 7pm.
